Documentary - Public TV

So finally we arranged the room to shoot the video. Unsurprisingly, we got the worst room IBA could give us. Everywhere there was echo while the room was dirty. So the audio was limited to what you people here in the video.

Our strategy was to shoot the interviews first and then shoot the program in parts which we were suppose to piece together into one video. The purpose was to describe the PTVs impact, successes and at the same time highlighting its drawbacks and limitations of being a state owned channel. We also did not try to show too much negativity as that’s what usually people talk about PTV. Not only this, but the information we collected and got, from Mr. Kamran Wajih, Director Sales PTV, did convince us to a certain extent the positive nature of PTV and its great impact and importance in the Pakistani Media industry.

As you can analyze, it was a typical archaic atmosphere. Our main goal was to take the viewers back to the “old PTV” environment which I am sure everybody is aware of. The voice, done by me, clearly resembles to that of those PTV videos which you generally relate PTV to. It was heavy

The slow progress of the video is of particular importance as well, as most PTV videos we saw, before shooting the video, were slow paced.

The time limit of 15 minutes proved to be great constraint while editing. However miraculously after including much of the important details we ended up in completing the video precisely within 15 minutes. It was a lot of effort editing the video but thanks to our group member Yawar Masood and his expertise in editing you see the video as it is.

As you can guess from the video, the focus was on Mr. Kamran and Mrs Huma Baqai, a renowned anchor. The interview with Huma Baqai was conducted by me while I also partially conducted the interview of Mr Kamran Wajih. They both proved to be the essence of the video as their feedback was what our project was aimed at.

In conclusion I would say that this video provides all we the students would want to know about PTV. Its structure and its limitations as the video revolve around it.

Hopefully you will find the video informative and fun to watch.
